Heater Project November 07

This is the heater box assembly before removal. The rust
from the leaky core is evident as is the general grunge from
almost 40 years of use. Definitely needed a complete overhaul.

The after market core didn't fit quite right, so the orginal
was used after some minor repairs.

This is the heater box stripped to bare metal.

The heater box painted (1 coat rust killer 2 coats top coat)
and the core installed. Note the PEM nuts used in place of
the horrible original sheet metal screws.

The motor, fan and plenum assembly. Note the sealing
tape around the edges where the assembly mounts to the box.

The completed heater assembly. Under going tests here.

Another view, note the blue EPDM shoulder washers.

This plug was fabricated to fill the hole in the heater box
left by the shorter replacement motor.

The plug in place and painted.

This is a shot of the heater installed.
